Purpose Built Communities has demonstrated the promise of the Purpose Built model in neighborhoods across America. This conference is an opportunity to learn best practices to making the model work, convene with folks who are dedicated to revitalizing neighborhoods, and be inspired to continue on our collective mission to transform every neighborhood into a pathway to opportunity and prosperity for the people who call it home.

We suggest comfortable shoes — you’ll be doing a lot of walking from your hotel room to the conference space, from session to session, and during a tour of the Woodlawn neighborhood in Birmingham. Business casual dress is what most attendees opt for, but we also recommend that you dress in layers as the conference rooms can get chilly. Also, be sure to check the weather before making the trip to Birmingham, since we will be outside for the neighborhood tour.

All attendees at the Conference and networking events must be registered attendees who purchased tickets.

Tickets should be purchased in advance of the event through the link on the website. We accept all credit cards.

Cancellations will be accepted until April 12, 2024. To receive a refund less a cancellation fee of 20%, you must submit a written notice of cancellation. Notification must be received no later than April 12, 2024 via email to blewis@purposebuiltcommunities.org. After April 12, 2024, no refunds will be made. However, a substitution may be submitted for review.

You may send a substitute in your place at any time. All such requests must be submitted by email to the Purpose Built Communities National Conference Team at blewis@purposebuiltcommunities.org. Only requests made by the original registrant will be honored.

This event has a limited quantity of tickets available and they are offered on a first come, first served basis. If there are any tickets left, they will be sold on-site. For the best chances of getting a spot at all the events you’d like to attend, register online in advance to secure your place!

Once you register online, your confirmation email confirms your ticket. You’ll receive an email with your registration instructions and event details.

The 2024 Purpose Built Communities National Conference will be held at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel. Purpose Built has secured discounted group rates at the Sheraton and the adjoining Westin Birmingham. To book your hotel accommodations and take advantage of our special group rate of $199.00 USD/night (plus applicable taxes and fees) at the Sheraton Birmingham and $239.00 USD/night (plus applicable taxes and fees) at the Westin Birmingham, please CLICK HERE. The conference will open with Lunch on Tuesday, April 23 at 12:30 PM at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel in the Birmingham Ballroom. The conference will conclude on Thursday, April 25 at 1:30 PM

There will be a conference app for the Purpose Built Communities National Conference. The app allows you to view and update your agenda, network with other attendees, receive important notifications, and more. We recommend using the app for an optimal conference experience. Details regarding how to access the conference app will be provided 1 week prior to the conference.

The conference will feature methods for advancing each of the four pillars of the Purpose Built Model, mixed income housing, education, community wellness, and economic vitality. It will also feature conversations about the growing field that we are all working in and inspirational keynote speeches.

We will be recording all events, so we request that attendees refrain from taking video. There are no restrictions on photo taking, except to leverage courtesy and appropriate timing.
