Joseph Acevedo is a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for the BlackRock Impact Opportunities Fund (BIO) within BlackRock Equity Private Markets. Joe is a member of BIO's investment committee (IIC) and serves as Co-Head of BIO's Portfolio Management team.

Joe has over 25 years of financial services experience with a focus on private market investments in underserved markets. He has served as board director or observer to portfolio companies across the healthcare, business services, media, technology, and financial services industries. He is currently board chair of Lift RetroFitness FTX and Lone Peak Dental Group and board director of Synergy Equipment. He has executed private investment transactions across buyouts, growth capital, and credit.

Joe was previously a co-founder and Managing Director of MoonSail Capital, LLC, a lower middle market private equity firm, where he was responsible for sourcing, due diligence, structuring, and monitoring of direct investments. Joe was a Principal at Pharos Capital Group where he held primary responsibility for managing transaction teams, leading due diligence efforts, and monitoring portfolio companies. Prior thereto, Joe was Director of Business Development at Univision, where he launched and led new business initiatives.

Joe graduated from Harvard College with an A.B., cum laude, in Government and holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School, where he was a Robert A. Toigo Fellow. He is a former Board Member of the New America Alliance (NAA) and Toigo Alumni Endowment.
