Description

More and more, employees are dealing with chronic stress and struggling to balance the demands of work and personal lives. The toll on workers’ mental health is growing. The pandemic was the pinnacle of burnout for many and sparked a desire for people to challenge how they prioritize and balance health, family, community, and work. Organizations also recognized that when the mental health of employees suffers, so does workplace engagement, satisfaction, productivity, creativity, and retention. Employers have the power to make the workplace an engine for mental health and well-being. This will require us to rethink how we foster a sense of connection, show people they are valued, protect them from harm, make space for their lives outside work, and support their long-term professional growth. This may not be easy, but it will be worth it – because the benefits will accrue for both individuals and organizations. Comprehensive wellbeing programs can alleviate stress, reduce burnout, and improve health outcomes. Further, employers who prioritize a wellbeing program foster a healthier and happier workforce with decreased absenteeism, improved retention, and a deeper connection with the company’s mission. Investing in and developing our employees is key to sustainability. A healthy workforce is the foundation for a thriving organization and a healthy community. We have the opportunity to enhance the overall quality of life for individuals within our organization by promoting a holistic approach to wellbeing. By implementing organizational initiatives and providing individual resources, we can foster a culture of wellbeing, improve employee satisfaction, enhance productivity, and create thriving organizations.

Attendees will learn how to:
1. Develop a wellbeing assessment strategy.
2. Develop a strategy for a wellbeing program aimed at improving the overall health and resiliency of their workforce and enhancing organizational culture.
3. Develop an integrated approach through a DEI lens in order to foster a sense of belonging and community.
