Participants will learn how to apply the principles and tools of improvement science to make progress on the critical drivers of school attendance. Participants will also learn about the importance of early and regular dental care and the age-appropriate vaccine schedule as it relates to general health and absenteeism.
Learning Objective:
1. Learn key activities of a high functioning student attendance team and hear stories of success from schools that have increased attendance utilizing the practices.
2. Synthesize current research and evidence-based practices related to student attendance.
3. Describe how dental caries (cavities) can be mitigated by early intervention and regular care, thus reducing school absences due to emergent dental needs.
