Chris Copeland is a dynamic leader and entrepreneur with a proven track record of driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and community impact. With over a decade of experience across industries, including education, utilities, logistics, and government, Chris specializes in leading high-impact transformations that create measurable value for organizations and their communities.

As the Managing Director of Clubmoss, Chris focuses on acquiring, scaling, and investing in lower middle-market businesses, particularly in sectors such as education (e.g., early childhood education, vocational training) and utility infrastructure services. His approach combines resilience, adaptability, and a long-term vision to build enduring businesses and inspire positive change.  His entrepreneurial efforts build on a strong foundation of leadership and strategy from his time as an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he advised C-level executives and senior leaders on financial, operational, and organizational transformations.  He also co-led McKinsey’s Institute of Black Economic Mobility, specializing in place-based transformations across multiple cities.

Chris holds dual master’s degrees from MIT and Harvard Kennedy School in Nuclear Physics and Technology and Policy, respectively, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Morehouse College.  A passionate advocate for economic mobility and education, he serves as a board member to Utopian Academy for the Arts and GreenLight Fund Atlanta.  In his spare time, Chris enjoys hiking, fitness, traveling, and supporting emerging performing and visual artists.
