Jim Rutherfurd, J.D.
Mr. Rutherfurd is a founding partner of BharCap and oversees investor relations. Prior to BharCap, Mr. Rutherfurd spent six years at Pine Brook as a partner and head of Pine Brook's investor relations team. He was also a member of the Pine Brook Investment Committee. Prior to joining Pine Brook, Mr. Rutherfurd was with 3i Group, where he was a partner responsible for fund investor relations and fundraising in the Americas, and with Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS), where he oversaw investor relations, fundraising and the firm's co-investment program for six years and served on the firm's investment committee.
Prior to his 15+ year career in private equity, Mr. Rutherfurd spent 12 years in investment banking as a managing director at J.P. Morgan & Co. in the Technology, Media and Telecom Industry Investment Banking Group and as a director at the First Boston Corporation Media Group. Mr. Rutherfurd began his career as a corporate and securities lawyer at the New York law firm Rogers & Wells (now Clifford Chance).
Mr. Rutherfurd holds an A.B. in Near Eastern Studies (summa cum laude) from Princeton University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
