NCBMP MEETINGS CODE OF CONDUCT

NCBMP Meetings Code of Conduct

The National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals (NCBMP) is committed to fostering a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting participants and NCBMP staff. This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, including but not limited to attendees, speakers, volunteers, industry partners, exhibitors, NCBMP staff, service providers, and others involved in NCBMP events. This Code also extends to all related events, including those sponsored by external organizations but held in conjunction with NCBMP events.

This Code of Conduct defines NCBMP’s expectations for participant behavior and the consequences of any unacceptable behavior. NCBMP is committed to ensuring equal opportunity and fair treatment for all. All participants are expected to treat each other with respect and consideration, adhere to venue rules, and report any violations of this Code, dangerous situations, or participants in distress to NCBMP staff.

  • Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.

Unacceptable Conduct

Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal or physical abuse, intimidation, or actions that annoy others or create disturbances that are disruptive, dangerous, or cause reasonable apprehension.
  • Harassing behavior, including offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, body size, race, religion, or national origin; inappropriate use of nudity or sexual images in presentations or event spaces; stalking; unwanted photography or recording; and any unwelcome physical or verbal contact or sexual attention.
