Live Well San Diego Virtual Pre-Conference

Join us the day before the Live Well Advance and School Summit, Tuesday, October 31st from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm, to learn more about the Live Well San Diego vision.

Virtual sessions will cover Live Well San Diego history, communications strategies, data indicators, and how you can get involved in the vision. 

Participants will also have the opportunity to join one of three breakout group sessions where they will learn how to contract with the County of San Diego, how to get engaged with Community Leadership Teams, or about the program California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM).

The pre-conference is perfect for those new to the Live Well San Diego vision and those wanting a refresher and to reconnect!

Ramona Prado-Lyon
Getting to Know the Live Well San Diego Vision
 

Ramona Prado-Lyon is a Community Health Program Specialist leading the Live Well San Diego Business Sector within the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency. She joined the County during the COVID-19 pandemic response and has been supporting pandemic and post-pandemic response efforts throughout her time at the County. Prior to the County, she worked and managed private healthcare clinics, which spawned her passion to improve healthcare access and equitably serve communities. Ramona went on to receive an MPH from Cal State San Marcos, so she could make a positive impact and build healthy, safe, and thriving communities.

Allison Hirahara

Allison Hirahara is a Community Health Promotion Specialist with the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, as part of the Live Well San Diego Support Team. Allison supports the Live Well San Diego Education Sector, Youth Sector, and Signature Events. She started working at the County as a student intern in 2020, and then joined her current team in the Office of Strategy and Innovation. Allison has an educational background in public health and studied at the University of California, Irvine, and San Diego State University.

Jeanette Ruiz

Jeanette Ruiz is the Live Well San Diego Partners & Events Manager on the Live Well San Diego Support Team in the Office of Strategy & Innovation (OSI). She holds Master’s in Public Administration with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership. She has been with the County since 2014, starting as a Human Services Specialist and Supervising Human Services Specialist in Self-Sufficiency Services, where she was also involved in promoting County wide activities and initiatives, and then as an Administrative Analyst II with Behavioral Health Services, prior to joining OSI. In her current role, she leads Partner Management, Live Well on Wheels and Live Well San Diego Signature events such as the Live Well San Diego 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run and the Live Well Advance Conference and School Summit. Prior to joining the County, Jeanette worked in a CBO where among other duties, she served as the Resident Leadership Academy (RLA) Coordinator in Linda Vista.

Nicole Villa

Nicole Villa is a Community Health Program Specialist on the Live Well San Diego Support Team in the Office of Strategy and Innovation. Nicole manages the Live Well San Diego Education Sector and the Youth Leadership Team within the Live Well San Diego Youth Sector. She has been with the County since 2018, starting as a Community Health Promotion Specialist and then becoming an Administrative Analyst before joining her current team. In her role, she manages sector activities, builds relationships with sector stakeholders, and supports signature events such as the Live Well San Diego 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run.

Lilly Hart

Lilly Hart is an Administrative Analyst on the Live Well San Diego Support Team in the Office of Strategy and Innovation. She started her career with the County of San Diego in 2020, starting as a COVID-19 Case Investigator, and then transitioning to the Live Well San Diego Education Sector, before joining her current team as an Administrative Analyst. In her current role, she manages the day-to-day logistics and coordination of the Live Well on Wheels, assists with Partner Engagement, and supports the Live Well San Diego signature events including Love Your Heart, Live Well San Diego 5K, and the Live Well Advance Conference and School Summit.

Lana Findlay
Live Well San Diego Branding and Communications
 

Lana Findlay, the Communications Manager for the Live Well San Diego Support Team at the County of San Diego oversees communications and branding for the Live Well San Diego vision. Ms. Findlay combines over 20 years of experience as a health scientist and communication specialist to educate and engage stakeholders to create behavior change through communications. As manager of the Communications Team, she works with partners and County staff to develop strategy, ensure consistent messaging and branding, and align and promote efforts by organizations and individuals to advance the vision

Jeff Jimenez
Decade of Data: Connecting the Dots for Community Wellbeing with the Live Well San Diego Indicators
 

Jeff Jimenez, the Community Data and Analytics Manager for the Live Well San Diego Support Team, brings prior experience as a Management Fellow at the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency. Jeff holds a degree from the San Diego State University Master of Public Health program, focusing on Health Management and Policy. Jeff has contributed to the County's emergency response teams and played a role in process improvement initiatives. Before entering the field of Public Health, he gained over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Jack Pellegrino
How to Contract with the County of San Diego
 

Jack Pellegrino has over four decades of government contracting and procurement experience working with diverse teams of contracting, procurement, and pricing staff in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining the County as the Director of Purchasing and Contracting, Jack held executive positions with Fortune 50 companies, leading the contracting, procurement, and pricing organizations. Jack holds a degree in Economics; a Master of Science degree in Procurement and Acquisition Management and an Advanced Specialization in Government Contract Management from UCLA. Heather Summers

Heather Summers is a Social Worker and public health administrator. She holds a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California (USC) with an emphasis on Community Organizing, Planning and Administration, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University. Professional experience includes 14 years at a Federally Qualified Health Center working with special populations prior to joining the County of San Diego two years ago to found and lead the San Diego Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal unit.

Valerie Brew, MA, South Bay Community Services (SBCS) Director of the Child Well-Being & Family Wellness Department, has worked in the field of child maltreatment for over 25 years. Ms. Brew has been with SBCS since 2004, and currently oversees SBCS’ Family Stabilization Services which include Shelter and Support Services, 24 Hour Family Response Team, and the agency’s Children’s Services. Her hard work and dedication has contributed to the agency’s recognition as a Public Health Champion and local leader in Child Abuse Prevention.
