The County's Office of Labor Standards & Enforcement has undertaken a proactive stakeholder engagement process to inform the content and delivery methods of a training series to help small business owners throughout the County understand their rights and obligations under the law during ICE enforcement actions. This panel will explore the training strategies and panelists will discuss how protecting workers starts with informing and empowering employers.
Our panelists will offer clear guidance* on how to assert constitutional rights, comply with California state laws, including the Immigrant Worker Protection Act, and share strategies for developing and implementing company policies that protect workers and comply with federal requirements.
We will also ask the audience to participate in a discussion about how to best socialize this information in order to protect the greatest number of San Diego workers and employers as possible.
*The panelists cannot offer direct legal guidance to attendees. For specific legal advice, attendees should seek legal counsel.
