Natasha Tais Salgado is the Vice-President of Programs & Strategic Initiatives for City Heights Community Development Corporation (CHCDC), a California public benefit nonprofit corporation instrumental to growth and development of City Heights.

In her current role, she spearheads a portfolio of programs and projects that expand equitable access to resources in City Heights – including the City Heights Business Improvement District, a public-private partnership providing services and support to over 400 local businesses and the City Heights Economic Development Collaborative, a coalition that aligns resources, policies, and strategies for the benefit of the neighborhood.

Prior to joining CHCDC, she was the director of economic development for Logan Heights Community Development Corporation, focusing on advancing socio-economic justice for community members and small businesses in Logan Heights, Historic Barrio District and the San Diego Promise Zone region.

Additionally, she serves as the City of San Diego Small Business Advisory Board vice-chair, advocating for economic equity and access for BIPOC small businesses and residents. She was selected to be among 24 power-building leaders from San Diego and Sacramento for the 2021 Rockwood Leadership Institute’s Building Power Fellowship and was chosen for the San Diego Leadership Alliance’s fellows class of 2022.

She holds a bachelor's degree in political science and international relations, as well as a minor in non-profit management from the University of San Diego, where she was the first Latina to be elected as student government president for the undergraduate student body.
