Valerie Brew, MA, Child Well Being and Family Wellness Department Director at SBCS Corporation, a local social services, nonprofit organization. As a Department Director, she currently oversees the agency’s child abuse prevention and intervention programs, housing and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence, and housing solutions for unsheltered and unstably housed families. Ms. Brew has worked in the field of child abuse prevention and intervention for more than 30 years and her experience is very diverse and includes direct service, group home administration and social work, training, research, and program management. Ms. Brew has her M.A. in Psychology, is a published author in the field, and has presented research findings regarding child abuse and neglect at several national conferences. Ms. Brew currently co-leads the LWSD South Region Community Leadership Team along with HHSA- Homeless Solutions and Equitable Communities where community stakeholders engaged in community action planning focusing on key priority areas for South Region.
