Description

The HOPE Framework is a strengths-based framework that applies the research of Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) across child and family serving systems. The HOPE framework has four evidence-based building blocks; Relationships, Environment, Engagement, and Emotional Growth. These building blocks encompass PCEs that support the well-being of all individuals. HOPE offers a strategy to counter the negative consequences of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and foster healthier outcomes. While HOPE was developed within the context of early childhood, this workshop aims to broaden the scope of the HOPE framework by extending its application beyond early childhood to encompass caregivers and older adults. With a focus on healthy aging across the lifespan, presenters will also describe how the HOPE Framework informs the Age-Friendly Communities movement and how Serving Seniors, a nonprofit in San Diego, is actively supporting older adults through the lens of the HOPE building blocks.
