Cecilia Guzman is from Sinaloa and graduated from la Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa with a degree in social work. She immigrated to this country in 2013 and since then has dedicated herself to community work, gaining valuable experience in leadership and advocacy in the health and community sectors. She currently serves as the Coordinator for the Ventanilla de Salud program at the Consulate General of Mexico, San Diego Office as well as Coordinator for the team of promotoras at Champions for Health. She has led and participated in various projects that have generated positive change among community health workers. In 2018, she was recognized as a Promotora of Excellence by the Coalition of Promotoras of San Diego County. Cecilia is a visionary and believes that a real community leader raises us up, gives us a reason to be and the spirit to make change!
