Description

How a message is delivered and who delivers it matters. It is crucial that people with lived experience provide health education and immunization services in the language and viewpoint of our diverse communities. We will explore health literacy and share strategies for clear communication to enhance understanding of health messages. We will share experiences activating the power of Community Health Workers through collaboration with local partners, the use of technology and targeted, integrated training. Don't miss this opportunity to master the art of effective health messaging and understand the pivotal role of Community Health Workers.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Attendees will identify at least two types of training/protocols that would help better integrate people with lived experience and their community partners/collaborators.
  2. Attendees will learn about the concepts of health literacy and plain language and the role they play as health determinants.
  3. Attendees will identify and develop a plan to reach out to at least three potential collaborators in their community (related to their specific focus area) to address health literacy, hesitancy, reticence or readiness for engagement in services/treatment.
