Dr. Marvin, a Licensed Psychologist, is a Vice President of Community Research Foundation (CRF) overseeing its Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT) division. PERT consists of licensed behavioral health clinicians paired with specially trained peace officers and paramedics, responding together to persons experiencing behavioral health crisis at the most serious end of the continuum of care throughout San Diego County. PERT also trains public safety personnel (peace officers, EMS, fire service, dispatchers) on effective crisis intervention and de-escalation to persons in behavioral health crises. Prior to joining PERT in 2015, Dr. Marvin served thirty years as a clinician, consultant, and Chief Psychologist with CRF. He also has over 30-years of providing psychological services, consultation and training to local and federal law enforcement agencies and other public safety entities (fire service, EMS, and communications centers).
