Speaker Bio
Dr. Elliott Witney is honored to serve as the founder and CEO of ECHO Learning, an organization committed to supporting individuals, organizations, and communities, particularly those most marginalized - in their efforts to maximize social impact. His professional journey, encompassing roles as a teacher, school leader, and systems leader, spans both charter and traditional school systems, as well as non-profit leadership.
He started his career as an educator in Houston ISD before joining the KIPP charter school network as a teacher, school leader, and ultimately systems leader - playing several pivotal regional and national roles as KIPP expanded from 2 schools to 125 nationwide. He then joined the team at a Houston-based school district called Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) and led the district’s efforts to deliver learning environments that dramatically improved short- and long-term postsecondary outcomes. In both, he oversaw critical aspects of strategy design and implementation, school performance, academics strategy, and talent pipelines.
Through ECHO Learning, he and his team have worked deeply in communities across nearly a dozen states and two countries that collectively serve more than 1M children to support strategy development, high-quality program implementation, impactful change management, and to expand and improve access to postsecondary pathways.
He earned at BA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA from National-Louis University, and an EdD from the University of Houston. He resides in Houston with his family, and you may see him running on the trails or coaching on a softball field.
