Robert L. Greene is the President and CEO of the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC), the largest network of diverse-owned alternative investment firms in the United States. In this role, he leads the organization’s capital and policy advocacy efforts, performance research, member services, and strategic alliance development.

Prior to his leadership at NAIC, Robert served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Virginia Retirement System (VRS), an $85 billion public pension plan serving more than 600,000 state employees. During his tenure, he chaired multiple board committees, including the Audit & Compliance Committee, Administration & Personnel Committee, and Investment Policy Committee.

Bob previously held the role of Director of Private Equity at Arthur Andersen’s Transaction Advisory Services Practice, where he advised top private equity firms such as Allied Capital, Texas Pacific Group, and The Carlyle Group.

He is widely recognized as a thought leader in entrepreneurship, finance, and diversity and inclusion. He has been featured on The Root 100 list of influential business leaders and is a frequent speaker for organizations including the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, Pension Bridge, NMSDC, Robert Toigo Foundation, and the Executive Leadership Council.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and is a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., the National Eagle Scout Association, and the National INROADS Alumni Association.
