Irwin Loud is the Chief Investment Officer of M2 overseeing the development of the private equity investment programs. Irwin serves on the investment committee and has been with the firm since 2000.
Previously, Irwin was Senior Portfolio Manager, Private Equity Investments for the Florida State Board of Administration (FSBA), which manages the state’s $110B pension fund. While at FSBA, Irwin played a prominent role in launching the industry's first partnership focused exclusively on private equity co-investments. He was also the architect of the formal structuring and growth of the portfolio to $3.2B in commitments. Irwin began his career at Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A., New York, where he served as a loan officer in the international and investment banking divisions.
Irwin received his BS (summa cum laude) and MBA degrees from Florida A&M University, School of Business & Industry.
Irwin is a member of NASP and is on the Fiduciary Committee (i.e., investment committee) of the $24B United Methodist Church Pension Fund. A private equity innovator, Irwin was named by Pensions and Investments in 1998 as one of “25 to Watch” over the next 25 years.
