Based in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, Segi Desta has been active in the hospitality industry for decades. For 18 years, she served as the Vice President & COO for the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau. Her responsibilities included managing daily operations, including conventions, tourism sales, marketing communications, and administrative functions. Before that, she was Director of Sales and Marketing for Metro Hotels Corporations, which managed more than 40 Hilton properties. Segi is a member of many industry trade associations and has served on many prominent boards, including a stint as a chairwoman of the Texas Tourism Advisory Board for the Texas Governor-Economic Development & Tourism office, RCMA, etc. She served as a member of the Customer Advisory Board for the Greater Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau, Visit Oklahoma City, and Experience Columbus. A recipient of NCBMP’s 2016 “Meeting Planner of The YEAR and the 1999 Association for Convention Management’s (ACOM) “Executive Excellence” awards. Segi is a graduate of Auburn University Montgomery.
