Courtney Grey – Director, Disaster Behavioral Health, IMAGINAL, LLC

After earning a mechanical engineering degree from MIT, Mr. Grey transitioned to a health technology career. He led IBM’s Health Industry Marketing Team, consulting for Lahey Clinic, Children’s Hospital, and Mass General.

He developed violence prevention practices using Capoeira Angola, Restorative Practices, and youth mentorship programs. As part of a National Institute of Mental Health study, he analyzed narratives from over 100 young adult male trauma victims, contributing to "Understanding Recurring Injury in Young Black Men."

This research informs his role as Director of Disaster Behavioral Health at Boston Public Health Commission. He also consults for the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress at UCLA-Duke, training a city-wide Response and Recovery Network to mitigate the impact of homicides, suicides, and disasters. Mr. Grey has deployed for responses to the Boston Marathon Bombing, Parkland shooting, Haiti earthquake, and Maui fire recovery mission.
