Jon Ippel is the Executive Director of Amplify GR, a nonprofit organization and member of the Purpose Built Communities network that partners with residents and local organizations to expand opportunities in Grand Rapids’ Boston Square, Madison Square, and surrounding neighborhoods. A Grand Rapids native, Jon brings over 15 years of experience in community development, urban real estate finance, and public administration. Before joining Amplify GR, he led citywide sustainability initiatives, coordinated more than $1 billion in infrastructure investments, and supported the creation of over 300 affordable housing units through innovative public–private partnerships. At Amplify GR, Jon champions efforts across housing, education, jobs & entrepreneurship, and community wellbeing to ensure inclusive neighborhood revitalization. He also serves on several local and state boards focused on housing and equitable development. Jon lives in Grand Rapids with his wife and two children, is a runner, and enjoys finding the newest great restaurants.
