Sandra Rodriguez is a committed advocate for community-driven change, education equity, and policy transformation. As President of the Gulfton Super Neighborhood Council, she has led efforts to secure infrastructure improvements, expand green spaces, and increase civic engagement in one of Houston’s most culturally rich neighborhoods. A key win under her leadership is the Gulfton Community Connector, a project enhancing pedestrian safety and mobility while fostering greater access to schools, parks, and transit.
In her full-time role as Executive Director, Texas at Latinos for Education, Sandra is dedicated to increasing Latino and family representation in decision-making spaces. Through her leadership, Latino families and leaders have successfully advocated for greater diversity on school boards, the inclusion of Latino voices in policy discussions, and expanded access to bilingual resources. A proud Mexican American and first-generation college graduate, Sandra blends grassroots advocacy with policy leadership to ensure underrepresented communities have a seat at the table.
