Originally from Liberia, West Africa, Alfield Reeves is an award-winning editorial, portrait & fine art photographer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His work encourages self-reflection & expression, promotes equitable action and showcases the identity & culture of black & brown people.
His work is featured in magazines and publications like Vogue Greece, The New York Times, NPR, and Vanity Fair to name a few. His work has been part of numerous exhibitions locally and nationwide. He has spoken on panels & fireside chats for The Grand Rapids Art Museum, Association for Enterprise Opportunity, ArtPrize, Grow Hub Grand Rapids & Kent ISD.
He serves on the Art Amplify workgroup for AmplifyGR and as a trustee at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. He's also the creator & co-host of The GOATs Podcast, where he and fellow creatives Sophie Rodriguez & George Ward chat about the arts, culture & their lives as creatives.
