Ebony Shelton serves as the County of San Diego Chief Administrative Officer. She is a visionary leader and native San Diegan who is committed to the health, economic prosperity and overall well-being of the community.

Ebony’s distinguished County career spans nearly three decades, beginning at the San Diego Superior Court and advancing through human resources and financial roles, honing her expertise in strategic planning, financial management, and administrative leadership.

In her previous role as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Ebony monitored the County’s multi-billion dollar budget, fostering efficiency and accountability across the organization.

Ebony has an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and an Executive Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Public Sector Leadership from California State University at Northridge.
