As President and CEO, Chris leads the Chamber toward advancing its mission of making the San Diego region the best place to live and work by creating an environment where business can succeed and grow while creating jobs, empowering leaders, and enriching neighborhoods.

A lifelong San Diegan deeply committed to the region’s quality of life, Chris brings extensive experience and a proven track record of advocating for San Diego’s business community to the Chamber. Chris served as City Councilmember for District 6 (2014-2022), representing 140,000 residents. During his tenure, he spearheaded the development of over 24 key policies addressing critical areas like housing, economic development, and public safety, demonstrating a strong record of leadership and addressing regional challenges.

Notably, he has actively collaborated with the San Diego Regional Chamber to elevate business community interests and has demonstrated a strong alignment with the Chamber’s priorities, fostering long-standing relationships with many members.

In addition to his City Council experience, Chris launched his own public affairs firm 3MC Strategies. The firm specialized in providing comprehensive services to the home building industry, government agencies, healthcare, non-profit organizations, and ethnic business associations.

Chris earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego and while a full-time student, started a successful small business providing auto glass replacement and windshield repair.

He currently serves on the board of directors for Episcopal Community Services, Voice of San Diego, UC San Diego Chancellor Community Advisory Board, and as Chair of the Mira Mesa Community Planning Group.

Chris, his wife Maria, and three children live in Mira Mesa.
