Janette White Shelton, MS, is a member and former Vice Chair of the San Diego County Committee for Persons with Disabilities. Janette possesses decades of experience in disability work and advocacy. She was a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for Faculty and Staff at UC Berkeley for 15 years; spent 10 years as a Workers' Compensation Consultant for Kaiser Permanente; and 3 years at UCSD as a Disability Management Specialist for faculty and staff, which included a 7-month dual role as Interim Manager of the Office of Students with Disabilities. Janette regularly volunteers at the San Diego Zoo and believes collaboration is a key aspect of not only disability work but all other aspects of being part of a thriving community.
