John Balogh serves as the Crime Prevention Specialist for the Valley Center Substation. He was a special education teacher for 10 years and prior to this he was a school counselor for 5 years. He has been a part of law enforcement for the past 14 years where he began his career as a Deputy at the George Bailey Detention Facility. He then transferred into the position of Community Service Officer where he worked for 10 years at the Vista and North Coastal Stations. In 2021, he was selected to be a Crime Prevention Specialist stationed at the Valley Center Substation. His responsibilities include looking at crime trends, providing education to the public/schools/businesses on crime prevention, attend community events, and be a resource and connection to the community.
