Karrie Schoettler is currently an Instructional Coordinator in the Multilingual Education Department at San Diego Unified School District. Karrie has worked in SDUSD for 18 years, previously as an English Language Development teacher and an English Language Instructional Resource Teacher, and brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role. Currently, she oversees the district's Newcomer Welcome Centers and instructional programs for newcomers, ensuring that immigrant and refugee students receive the support they need to thrive. Karrie is dedicated to improving outcomes for newcomer students and believes in fostering inclusive, equitable educational environments for all learners.
