Date & Time
Wednesday, October 22, 2025, 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM
Amanda Berry
Description

Upcoming federal changes under HR 1 will expand work requirements and shorten redetermination periods for Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and CalWORKs participants—creating new barriers to accessing essential benefits.

Join this session for a brief overview of how these policies intersect and explore practical ways that community partners from across sectors can collaborate.

Together, we’ll begin to identify strategies to help San Diegans meet requirements, retain benefits, and strengthen our shared safety net through a collective-impact approach.

This session is envisioned as the beginning of an ongoing conversation and collaboration.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will have a basic understanding of the upcoming changes to rules impacting access and eligibility.
2. Participants will be able to identify their organization’s unique role in helping community members access and keep their benefits.
3. Participants will leave with a clear path to participation in a larger collective impact effort for supporting community members’ access to required work, volunteer and educational opportunities.
