Description
Trust in public health plays a critical role to improve the health outcomes of local communities and to prevent and withstand future public health emergencies. Although COVID-19 brought unprecedented challenges to overcome at every level of government, opportunity also emerged to learn from past mistakes and investigate what can be done better to respond and support the health and well-being of San Diego County residents and visitors in the future. This session explores factors of what previously built and fractured trust, while also exploring ways to (re)build trust in local government during times of uncertainty.
Learning objectives
- After participating in the session, attendees should understand the importance of each level of influence and how each layer of the socioeconomical model has a responsibility in (re)building trust; and
- Apply simple shifts and incorporate trust-building strategies to improve the health and wellbeing of San Diego County residents and visitors during times of uncertainty.
