The County of San Diego adopted an equity-centered Climate Action Plan (CAP) in September 2024. While there is clear guidance on how to track the amount of greenhouse gas emissions reduced due to CAP implementation, tracking climate equity outcomes can follow various approaches. This panel discussion will showcase how the County’s Planning & Development Services Department worked with internal and external stakeholders to develop metrics that measure the County’s efforts to implement the CAP in a way that leads to equity-based outcomes. The session will also include an interactive portion wherein participants can provide input on qualitative and quantitative data to highlight as part of CAP monitoring and reporting.
