Description

In an increasingly distracted world, our attention is under siege—and our mental health is paying the price. This Workshop is a dynamic, 60-90 minute session designed to equip participants with immediate tools to foster digital balance and reconnect themselves, each other and with nature. We address the urgent need for preventative mental health strategies in schools, families, and communities, focusing on the impact of the attention economy and digital overload on well-being.

Participants will explore the science behind screen overuse and nature’s restorative effects, learn about healthy tech boundaries, and clarify personal and community values in the digital age. Whether you’re a parent, educator, student, mental health professional, or community leader, this session provides practical resources to support mental wellness and intentional living.

This session, along with its complimentary resources, has empowered past attendees to initiate unplugged family practices, nature-based classroom rituals, and school-wide wellness initiatives. Participants leave as certified Nature Unplugged Advocates—ready to inspire change and lead efforts toward a healthier, more mindful life and community.

Learning Objectives

1. Identify the effects of the attention economy and screen time on mental health.

2. Implement nature-based and values-driven tools to support digital balance.
