Oliva “Oli” Lafuente is a dedicated Promotora Coordinator at San Diego State University, where she plays a crucial role in the Faith in Action Trial. With her expertise in health promotion, Oli is responsible for training promotoras in physical activity, motivation techniques, and various wellness topics. Her work is instrumental in empowering community health workers to support and educate their communities. Oliva holds a B.S. in Computer Sciences from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. In addition to her role at SDSU, Oliva is actively involved in community health initiatives. She has contributed to various projects focused on improving health outcomes in diverse populations, particularly within Latino communities. Oliva's passion for health equity and her bilingual skills in English and Spanish make her an invaluable asset in bridging cultural gaps in health education and promotion.
