Jana Schwartz, AICP, SITES AP is a Senior Land Use/Environmental Planner in Long Range Planning with the County of San Diego’s Planning & Development Services Department. Prior to joining Planning & Development Services, Jana was a Transportation Equity & Livable Community Specialist with the County’s Aging & Independence Services, helping manage the Aging Roadmap and Age Well initiative.



Previously, Jana was a Senior Planner with Circulate San Diego, a Project Designer with Callander Associates Landscape Architecture, and a Project Manager with Greensburg GreenTown through AmeriCorps. Areas of work focus on improving open space, mobility opportunities, and livability for communities and residents of all ages, abilities, and other diversities because everyone deserves safe, healthy, and vibrant places to live and thrive.



Jana holds a BS in Landscape Architecture & Environmental Design from the University of California, Davis and a Master's Degree in City & Regional Planning from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. Jana is a certified planner and a board member of the San Diego Section of the American Planning Association.
