Speaker Bio
Anna, a San Diego native, serves as Executive Director for the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA with over 20 years of experience in the Y. She is recognized as a dynamic leader committed to social justice and fostering the growth of her team. Her passion for equity stems from family discussions on politics and change, inspiring her to pursue a BA in Political Science from Boston University.
Anna’s career began with under-served youth in before and after school programs, quickly expanding to roles such as Sports Director, Youth Programs Director, and eventually Executive Director—all at the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA. She pioneered outreach programs that extended into apartment complexes, churches, and community centers.
Under Anna's leadership, the YMCA saw membership growth and increased youth program development. She played a pivotal role in the $22M Safe At Home Capital Campaign, which led to the construction of a new facility and the completion of a state-of-the-art Aquatics Center in 2022. Her efforts also secured a $4.9M state grant, making the Jackie Robinson YMCA the only Y in California to receive such funding under Proposition 84.
In her personal life, Anna enjoys supporting her two children’s sporting events, reading, and listening to 90's hip-hop.
