Alejandra is an Equity Impact Manager at the Office of Equity and Racial Justice (OERJ), currently leading the Equity Impact Grant Program, the Equity Indicator Report, and the County-wide Organizational Equity Assessment. She rejoined OERJ from the Finance and General Government Group Executive Office, where she served as a Chief Administrative Office staff officer. Previously, she was OERJ’s first Management Fellow.
Before the County, Alejandra worked for community-based organizations and universities in research, data analysis and program evaluation. She has also worked with California state legislation and international events such as the United Nations 9th Conference of State Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the United Nations 3rd Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, held in Quito, Ecuador.
Alejandra has a Master of Public Policy from UC San Diego, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Social Welfare from UC Berkeley.
Born in San Diego and raised in Tijuana, Mexico until the age of 14, her binational experience has inspired her desire to work on improving the opportunities of communities in San Diego County and along the border region. Her research and policy interests include equity and belonging, mental health and well-being, disability rights, and transnational and immigration issues.
