Dr. Amy Bonomi is Dean of the College of Health and Human Services and a Professor in the School of Public Health. A Chicago native, she holds a bachelor's in applied psychology from Loyola University and both a master's in public health and a doctorate in health services from the University of Washington.  Throughout her career, Dr. Bonomi has spearheaded initiatives to foster collaboration among faculty and community partners, enhance leadership opportunities for faculty and staff, and improve student success. She founded Social Justice Associates, which assists organizations on building strategy through the lens of equity. As Associate Dean at Northern Arizona University, she led the development of a pathway program for students to work with community health representatives. Previously, at Michigan State University, she was the Human Development Department chair and founding director of the Women’s Leadership Institute, where she secured over $3 million in philanthropic support.An internationally recognized researcher on domestic violence, Dr. Bonomi has received multiple awards, including a Distinguished Scholar Award at Ohio State University. She serves as co-chair of the Board of Scientific Counselors at the CDC and is a peer reviewer for both the CDC and the U.S. Department of Justice.
