Kim McDougal, Senior Vice President of Social Services, has over 17 years of YMCA leadership experience, and has served on statewide and local committees to enhance quality and access to childcare including the California Alternative Payment Program Association (CAPPA) and the California Resource & Referral Network. Kim previously held the position of Executive Director for the YMCA Childcare Resource Service department, and has been the driving force behind many innovative initiatives that expand the YMCA’s impact in the community. Her community relationships and ability to integrate work across service areas have proven invaluable in leading the transformation of childcare throughout San Diego County.
Kim leads a team of over 175 full-time and 350 part-time staff to consistently high performance on contracts providing subsidized childcare for low-income families, respite care for families with children with disabilities, support for quality childcare, and connecting parents to childcare. She manages a budget of over $155M and provides agency wide leadership in customer service, strategic planning, staff development, and evaluation.
Education is a life-long passion for Kim. She obtained Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and International Relations from the University of California Davis. She has also earned a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Master of Arts in Child & Family Development from San Diego State University, and has also attained numerous YMCA training certifications.
