Tracy Schmidt is the Director of Attendance, Safety, and Student Engagement for the San Diego County Office of Education. She facilitates the certification course for supervisors of attendance, serves as a faculty member and coach for the Improving Chronic Absenteeism Network (ICAN), and is a California Association of Supervisors of Child Welfare and Attendance (CASCWA) Board member. She has worked as an educational student services administrator for 15 years. Before that, she supported students, families, and school staff as a clinical school social worker.
