Nyaduoth Gatkuoth Wakou is a first generation Southern Sudanese-American from San Diego,
California. She is a scholar, activist, organizer, artist, public speaker, and so much more.
Nyaduoth is a graduate from the University of California, San Diego class of '22 after majoring in
Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations where she received her Bachelors
of Arts.
She is currently serving as the Youth Director for the Southern Sudanese Community Center, a
non-profit organization in East San Diego, that serves community members from South Sudan,
North Sudan, The Congo, Ethiopia and Kenya--she's also the Youth Council Leader on behalf of
the Sudanese community in the San Diego Refugee Communities Coalition Young Leaders
Council.
