Janet Barragan, MSW Biography* Ms. Barragan is a Departmental Operations Chief- Regional Community Coordinator for the Department of Homeless Solutions and Equitable Communities- Office of Equitable Communities. She has dedicated her over 20 years of service in HHSA to strengthening families and vulnerable populations, most recently serving as a Chief, Agency Operations and Practice for Child Welfare Services (CWS). She has served the southern border region for 20 years in different capacities, navigating unique challenges and circumstances that have required constant collaboration and partnership with different community stakeholders to invite ideas and promote engagement in areas of common interest. Ms. Barragan comes with years of binational liaison experience and has represented the Agency in various forums in the intersection of border-related issues and Child Welfare. She has led various projects linked to elevating equity and has participated in a range of projects supporting LWSD initiatives, South Region goals, and community events. Janet holds a Master of Social Work degree with emphasis in administration and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with emphasis in Social Problems.
