In this session, we will review the concepts of displacement and intergenerational trauma and will discuss how historical events (e.g., colonialism, slavery, war, segregation) impact BIPOC mental health and wellbeing. We will also reflect on our own personal family history using poetry and focus on resilience. At the end of the workshop, we will share useful resources for maintaining wellness.

- Gain a basic awareness of what displacement and intergenerational trauma is
- Develop a basic understanding of how intergenerational trauma impacts future generations and reflect on personal family history using poetry
